NYSCI's Seventh Annual

Supporting Women and Girls in STEM

How can artificial intelligence serve society when race, gender and class bias are embedded in the coding?

Coded Bias, a film by Shalini Kantayya, delves into this topic by shedding light on the threats artificial intelligence and machine learning pose to our civil rights, civil liberties, and democracy.

This Women's History Month, NYSCI is inviting you to take part in a special two-part virtual event that will include an opportunity to watch the film and participate in a thoughtful conversation between Shalini and women's rights advocate, Namita Luthra. Walk away knowing what you – as an organizer, programmer, lawyer or citizen – can do to advocate for a more just and equitable virtual world.

Registration for the event is now closed. A recording of the conversation will be posted on nysci.org by the following week. Please contact us at vip@nysci.org with any questions or concerns.
